Tai Chi is a moving meditation which reduces stress by relaxing the heart and mind while increasing focus and concentration. It also supports over all health for inner organs, immunity and the cardio vascular system. It’s very good at improving general fitness without impact and improves balance.

Tai Chi-Mindfulness for Youth


Dear calm and peaceful hive mind,

I want to offer a tai chi and mindful movement class for youth.

By youth, I mean elementary through middle school. Though, I’d be very interested in adding a class for teens specifically. (More on that later!)

Yang Tai Chi (24 form) Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm

Perfect for beginners or experienced tai chi players. The world’s most popular form of tai chi is easy to learn yet maintains the traditional feel of longer and more complex forms.

We’ll focus on how to apply the lessons of tai chi to reducing stress and increasing flow in your every day life. This class is perfect for anyone wanting to shed stress, worry, anxiety and gain greater well-being, happiness and enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. You’ll gain mental and emotional flexibility, an overall softening of the heart/mind, as well as better balance and immune response! No special gear or prior experience required, though soft soled shoes are recommended.

Ease into your weekend by giving your self some headspace and much needed balance in body and mind. Let your tension and stress melt away with an hour of gentle, mindful movement and guided meditation. Learn to create mental space, cultivate emotional intelligence, work with negative emotions, do quick centering strategies. Come as you are. No special clothing or gear needed.

Tai Chi News Flash!


I’m very excited to announce that Calm Chicago will be teaching tai chi at the American Rhythm Center again. The link for registration will be available soon, but you can pencil in your class times now. 

My tai chi classes are perfect for beginners and tai chi players of all levels. I emphasize the use of tai chi as a tool for relaxation, personal growth and stress management. Shift happens but suffering is optional! I hope you’ll join us. 

The American Rhythm Center is in the gorgeous, landmark Fine Arts Building at 410 South Michigan Ave. easily accessible for public transit and parking.

Classes start June 8 and run through August 16.

My offering in Yang 24 Form tai chi will be:

  • Tuesday evenings 5:30-6:30
  • Friday lunchtime 12-1
