The Sailing Psychologist: A Dream

Though, it started as a half-joke this summer while sailing with my husband, I think this maybe, possibly could be a real thing.

There is something so special about being on a boat sailing. The experience of coming together as a small group of folks interacting cooperatively, the open space of lake or sea. The clear wind, fresh air. The sheer sense of opening and possibility. The sense at days end of peace. How food tastes on board. Oh God, and the sound and feeling of moving on a boat as she slices through the water. How healing it is.

SailingPsychologist

I ask you all for your help in helping me nurture this dream to see if it can really leave the dock. I can only wonder what this might look like one day.

Many thanks to those of you who already chimed in. I can’t tell you how much it means to have your words of encouragement.

Here’s to oceans of compassion.
