Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all nurturing women everywhere, (and in this case, especially writers) for what else is mothering but regardless of genes, an inclination to nurture, to love.  And possibly, to write.

Dani Shapiro shares some wisdom about the inter-being of writing and life.Thank you Dani for this bit of love. (I so hope to attend one of your workshops or retreats very soon.)

Real love is as vast as the ocean. As soft and determined as all water is, to flow, to be shared. To soothe, cleanse. It holds us in the vastness and interconnectedness of all water everywhere. For it is not just held in the hands of the earth but in the air we breathe, the clouds above us. In runs in our very veins. We breathe it in and out with every respiration. It expands and contracts with the swelling and relaxing of every one of our cells. This is Mother Earth. So she is water also and we are her. To live is to be creative, to love, every moment, breath by breath.
